Sip Happens: NSW vs. the World Wine Tasting

Two Sommeliers. 6 wines. One crown!

We're pouring the same variety from NSW and from the other side of the planet, side by side, and letting your tastebuds do the judging. Turns out a grape is just the opening line: the soil, the climate, the winemaker's mood, centuries of tradition or none at all, they all get a say in how the story ends.

INTREPIDUS WINES × THE ART SYNDICATE

We’re welcoming Chrissie Smith, winemaker and owner of Intrepidus Wines, to The Art Syndicate for an evening of tasting wine & conversation.

Chrissie’s path into wine began, fittingly, with a conversation with a winemaker in a wine bar. Not long after, she left her job, started working in vineyards and enrolled in a winemaking degree. Today she’s a qualified viticulturist and award-winning winemaker, with Intrepidus built around the idea of being “fearless in the unknown.”

Based in the Canberra Wine District, Chrissie works hands-on from vineyard to bottle. Intrepidus’ core wines come from a vineyard in Yass planted to Shiraz, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, with other fruit sourced from growers across Hilltops, Gundagai and Canberra. Her approach in the vineyard focuses on minimal synthetic intervention and building healthier natural ecosystems.

Come meet Chrissie, hear the stories behind Intrepidus and taste through the wines with the person who grows and makes them.

Tickets: $45 (+ Booking Fees)
