2025 NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards

NSW Wine is thrilled to have been hosting the NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards since 2019.

The NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards are dedicated to supporting and rewarding restaurants, wine bars, pubs, clubs and hotels in Sydney and regional NSW that are true #NSWWineStars - offering their customers a great wine experience and a range of delicious local wines that showcase the quality and diversity of wines being produced in our state.

NSW Wine wants to see to more local wines listed on wine lists across the state, and these awards are an incredibly important part of our year that brings together our wineries, with the people selling there wines day after day.

Venues that enter the awards are assessed using criteria including wine list content, presentation, educational content, selection, food and wine matching, service and NSW wine representation.

Categories

Sommeliers and Bar/Beverage Managers will be in the running to win the title of ‘NSW Sommelier’s Wine List of the Year’ in one of six different categories:

  • Sydney venue (<60 seats)

  • Sydney venue (>61 seats)

  • Regional NSW venue (<60 seats)

  • Regional NSW venue (>61 seats)

  • Caterer or Function venue (including cultural venues such as museums & libraries)

  • NSW Wine President’s Award for Outstanding Support of the NSW Wine Industry 

An overall winner will be chosen from these six categories.

What’s on offer?

Along with a stunning trophy some great prizes were also up for grabs, including:

  • All category winners will receive the title of #nswwinestar, a certificate and promotional material to help share the good news.

  • Exclusive food and wine trips to some of NSW’s best wine regions

  • Complimentary entry into Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards

  • Admittance into the Chaine Des Rotisseurs Young Sommelier’s 2026 competition, where you will have the chance to compete for the right to represent Australia.
