MoU Regional Wine Industry Fund

The 2021 Memorandum of Understanding between the NSW Government and NSW Wine Industry Association was signed in April 2021. Included in the MoU was the plan to collaborate on the development of a NSW Regional Wine Industry Fund providing up to $300,000 per annum to support projects that create sustainable growth in the NSW wine industry.

Included in the fund is $140K to go towards Competitive Grants. These grants have the ultimate objective of increasing employment in regional NSW by:

  1. To increase tourism in Cellar Doors in regional NSW
  2. To increase the sales and listings of NSW wines in On Premise in Greater Sydney

Who can apply

These grants are being offered to regional associations / organisations, or clusters of businesses where a benefit can be displayed across a region / cluster.

Funding available

Applications can be made starting at $5K up to a maximum of $40K. These grants will for financial contributions for the applicants, with a preference to see a minimum of 50% cash contribution from the applicant (Note: this is a preference and not an absolute requirement).

How funding is decided

Projects will be assessed by small committee of industry and government, as previously agreed.

Key dates:

Applications open on Monday 20th September 2021

Applications close 11pm Thursday 7th October 2021

Grants awarded on Monday 1st November 2021

Projects must commence no later than 31st January 2022

Projects to be completed by 31st January 2023.
